Description

This is a bust of famous Russian Generalissimo of XVIII Century Alexander Vasilievich Suvorov. Suvorov was a commander of Russian Army and participated in many wars and battles during the reign of Catherine the Great. He never lost any battles during all his carrier. This bust was cast out of iron using precision technique. It was made in the end of 1980s at the Kasli Architectural and Artistic Casting Plant located in Chelyabinsk Region in USSR. The bust has original stamp of Kasli plant (see picture). Size : 8.5Hx5W''; weight 3.8lb. Kasli cast-iron sculptures were produced in Kasli ( Southern Ural ), from the mid-19th century. Kasli castings are characterized by skilled craftsmanship visible in exceptional clarity and smoothness of the metal surface. High-quality iron was smelted on a wood fire and cast in consistently fine sand. The bust is in excellent vintage condition.
