Description

Vintage carved wood and painted sculpture in the style of Dominican Republic artist Frank Coronado Caoba. It is not signed, but is attached to a wood base labeled "Rep. Dominicana." The sculpture is attached loosely to the base with a single nail through the bottom (Photo 11), and the sculpture can turn on the base. Figure Height: 10" Figure Width (widest point): 3" Base Height: .75" Base Length: 2.5" Base Width: 2.25" Weight: 10.7 oz Minor scuffs on back near the base of the neck (Photo 7). Otherwise smoothly carved and brightly painted. This was purchased at an estate sale and I have no knowledge of it's provenance. See photos for item condition. All photos are in artificial light.
